About

We’re a reading family. But we didn’t start that way. Reading came in seasons for years.

For myself (Anna), I remember the first time a story captivated me: second grade, my teacher read the BFG by Roald Dahl out loud to our class. Reading the Bible in my twenties, I started to realize how much I could read. Even challenging books, with vocabulary too large for me. I learned to just slow down, take in what I could understand, let go of what I didn’t – trusting it would come later. And it did. As a young mother, with a husband working nights, I learned to love the memoirs of others. Their stories pulled me into places, adventures and perspectives I would never have found on my own.

Now one of my greatest joys is sharing my love for stories with my own children. Characters from fiction and history have become dear friends to our family: weaving themselves into our own story and history. We’d love to invite you in, too.

So let’s share books. Let’s make memories. Let’s grow together.
